Onycholysis is defined as the detachment of a part of the nail or the total detachment.
Causes may be:
- Repeated trauma caused by shoes that are too tight
- Injury as a result of violent impacts on the nail
Treatment of onycholysis
Treatment consists of removal of the affected area.
